“Retrospective study on Asian dental patients undergoing local anesthesia using an articaine product”

1. Outline of Research
Articaine cartridge for dentistry is frequently used in many countries, but it has not yet been introduced in Japan, and we are now conducting a clinical study to introduce it. As a part of this study, we decided to investigate the safety of the drug in Japanese patients retrospectively, especially for high volumes.
2. research methods
1) Study Subjects
Three hundred Japanese patients who received infiltration anesthesia with Articaine at JP Green Dental Clinic from July 1, 2021 to December 31, 2021 will be included in the study.

After approval by the Ethics Review Committee – March 31, 2024
3) Research Methods
Complications after anesthetic injection will be investigated using medical records.
4) Information to be used
We will use information extracted from medical records as information for the research. Your personal information will be deleted and unlinkable anonymized after the expiration of the opportunity to refuse, and we will take the utmost care to protect your privacy so that your personal information will not be leaked.
5) Methods of storage and disposal of information, secondary use
The information used in this study will be stored strictly at JP Green Dental Clinic for 3 years after the completion of the study. Electronic information will be stored in a password-controlled computer, and other information will be stored in a lockable vault. At the end of the storage period, electronic information will be deleted from the computer and other information will be shredded and destroyed.
6) Disclosure of research protocols and personal information
Materials related to the design and methods of this research will be made available to other research subjects to the extent that it does not interfere with the protection of their personal information and intellectual property. The results of individual studies will not be disclosed for the following reasons. Please understand that the results of individual studies will not be disclosed because of unlinkable anonymization.
The results of this research will be published in academic conferences and papers in a form that does not reveal your personal information.
